  • Overview
    The Research Engineer/Assistant will support research, facility, and laboratory functions by establishing, maintaining and utilizing data acquisition systems and coordinating as necessary with faculty in the Kinesiology and Health Science Department laboratories https://khs.usu.edu/labs/index.

    Responsibilities
    The ideal candidate will be competent in working with electronics including electromagnetic devices, strain gauges, and force sensitive resistors to build functional experimental equipment. In addition to playing a key role in building experimental devices, the Research Assistant will aid with daily laboratory operations, ie:

    Conduct pilot testing
    Run experiments
    Analyze data
    Operations and maintenance of equipment
    Recruiting and testing human research subjects
    The ideal candidate will have an interest in applying their engineering skills to the fields of neuroscience, exercise physiology and human movement science.

    Qualifications
    Required

    Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
    Preferred

    Candidates with programming experience with Matlab and LabVIEW

    Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
